You will need

Steps

  1. Step 1 of 7: Sign in or create a free account

What to do: Sign in to Spatial9. If you do not have an account yet, create a free one.

What you should see: After signing in you are taken back into Spatial9 and see your name or picture at the top.

Why this matters: Projects are saved to your account so you can come back to them. Reading this guide never needs an account.

Need help? Forgot your password? Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page. You can come back here afterwards.

  2. Step 2 of 7: Start a new project

What to do: Open the New project page.

What you should see: A set of cards to choose what you want to upload, such as "Stereo Tracks" and "Audio Stems".

Why this matters: Each card tells Spatial9 what kind of file you have, so it knows how to treat it.

Need help? If you see "Project Limit Reached", your plan has used its projects for this month. You can still read every guide.

  3. Step 3 of 7: Choose "Stereo Tracks"

What to do: Choose the "Stereo Tracks" card. This is for a normal finished song.

What you should see: The card is highlighted and a "Select Files" button is ready.

Why this matters: A normal song file is stereo: one left and one right channel. Spatial9 will take it apart and rebuild it in 3D.

Need help? If you already have separate parts of your song (vocals, drums and so on), choose "Audio Stems" instead.

  4. Step 4 of 7: Select your song

What to do: Press "Select Files" and choose your song from your device. You can also drag the file onto the card.

What you should see: The file name appears with a status such as "Ready".

Why this matters: Spatial9 checks the file first, so problems are caught early.

Need help? Supported formats are MP3, WAV and FLAC for songs. If you see "Failed", check the file plays on your device, then try again.

  5. Step 5 of 7: Wait while Spatial9 separates the parts

What to do: Wait. You do not need to do anything. You can read the next step while you wait.

What you should see: A progress screen with messages such as "Isolating individual instruments and vocals...".

Why this matters: Spatial9 splits your song into parts so each one can be placed in its own spot around the listener.

Need help? This usually takes a few minutes. Keep the tab open. If it stops moving for a long time, refresh and try once more.

  6. Step 6 of 7: Listen on headphones

What to do: When the studio player opens, put on headphones and press play.

What you should see: Your song plays with parts placed around you. You can see each part listed in the player.

Why this matters: Listening is the best check. Trust your ears more than the screen.

Need help? Too loud? Use "Stop sound" at the top or your device volume.

  7. Step 7 of 7: Find your project again later

What to do: Open your Workspace whenever you want to come back to this project.

What you should see: Your project appears in the list with its name.

Why this matters: Your work is saved to your account, so you can stop at any time.

Need help? Next you might want the headphone version as a file you can share.

You have a Spatial9 project with an immersive version of your song.
